I think the next scene or two is going to have less purple.

Yes.

I think this comic could use some more blue.

Color ramblings aside, next week (???) is going to be a very big and exciting DOUBLE SPREAD PAGE. I have a ton of other stuff on my figurative plate but I'll make it happen.

The coloring just keeps getting better and better. Are you inspired by the impressionists? You know, by people like Van Gogh, or Monet

I'm inspired by a lot of things!

I respect impressionists and think that they did a lot of really interesting work, but they're not quite my color idols (although they did a lot of experimentation in how artists use and see color that's still valid and really useful for painting).

Probably the biggest influence on me thus far as far as color goes is James Gurney's color and light book. I've read about half of it (it's difficult to understand parts of it) and it blew my mind. That, and cartoons.
